The fraud lab: dissecting fraud case studies
27 January | 11am GMT | 12pm CET | Online
Fraudsters are continually refining their tactics, combining social engineering, impersonation, account compromise and AI-enabled techniques to create increasingly sophisticated scams. But behind every successful attack are clues: subtle inconsistencies, unusual behaviours and overlooked signals that can reveal how the fraud unfolded.
In this interactive Fraud Lab, the panel will dissect a series of real-world and anonymised fraud case studies. Each case will be broken down to understand how the fraud was constructed, what warning signs were present, which signals were missed, and where intervention might have been possible.
Rather than simply asking whether a transaction is fraudulent, the session will focus on learning how fraud happens and recognising the tell-tale patterns that sit behind different attack types. A practical, investigative format designed to challenge assumptions, share frontline experiences and give fraud professionals a sharper understanding of how seemingly small signals can reveal much larger fraud patterns.
