Martijn has had an extensive career in retail banking, holding senior positions in some of Britain’s largest banks including Santander, HBOS, and HSBC. At HSBC, he started the bank’s foray into the mortgage market as UK Head of Mortgages, launching the UK’s first online mortgage application and doubling the size of the book in 3 years. Later he became Global Head of Mortgages, overseeing 23 markets and a portfolio of around $300bn. Martijn is a previous Chairman of the Council of Mortgage Lenders.

Martijn joined Habito in April 2017 as Chief Strategy Officer, and drives deeper partnerships with lenders to bring speed, ease and certainty to the mortgage experience.
