Lenka has also played a leading role in the development of Coutts’ approach to Responsible Investing – the integration of environmental, social and governance factors in investment decision-making processes and ownership practices.
Lenka joined Coutts in 2011, bringing over 15 years’ experience in the fields of philanthropy, international development and governance. Her career began with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office/Overseas Development Agency, based at the British Embassy in Prague, where she oversaw the Government’s programme of support for transition in the Czech Republic . Lenka then went on to: lead the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation’s grant-making strategy to strengthen civil society in Romania and Bulgaria; and author practical guides for philanthropists with New Philanthropy Capital, where she also spearheaded the strategic development of a new corporate foundation. Prior to joining Coutts, Lenka was Director of the Carnegie UK Trust’s Democracy and Civil Society Programme, where she led an ambitious and high-profile Inquiry into the Future of Civil Society in the UK and Ireland.
Lenka holds a BA (Hons) in Contemporary East European Studies from the University of London, an MBA, an MSc in Development Management, FFI GEN Certificates in Family Wealth Advising and in Family Business Advising, and is also an Accredited Mediator.
