Clive is Design Director for Barclays Premier where he runs a service design team using design methodology to transform customer experiences. Clive joined the Barclays Design Office in 2013 and has lead several projects including Barclays’ new investment platform Smart Investor.

Originally a product designer, Clive started his career with innovation consultancy IDEO before founding the design company Tangerine (with Jonathan Ive, head of design at Apple). He has worked in the US and Far East on consumer electronics and headed Samsung’s European design team.

He moved into technology as head of design for mobile phone company Orange and then joined Cisco as a customer experience expert for their customers across retail, financial and public sector.

Outside of Barclays he has been a trustee of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA), sits on the Design Board of the RSA and is a trustee of Merton Music Foundation, a music educational organisation. Clive is a visiting prof at Glasgow School of Art and is the author of the book Smart Design.
