Thomas Bolander is an associate professor in Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the Technical University of Denmark. His main current research focus is on social aspects of AI: how to make the computers, smartphones and robots of the future socially intelligent, so they can interact in a flexible and socially competent way with humans and robots. Thomas Bolander is a member of the Danish SIRI commission (SIRI-kommissionen) established to investigate how AI will affect the future Danish society and job marked, and how we can utilise its full potential. He is a leading Danish communicator of AI in public presentations and to the media.
