Shubhrendu works with a host of diverse business and government partners to embed digital payments into smart cities helping reduce reliance on cash and unlocking power of data.

Prior to his new role, he helped issuers, merchants & telcos in Asia Pacific in the digital commerce space and drove conceptualization, launch, spread and uptake of wallets and related service infrastructure.

Previously, he was GM for C-SAM in Asia Pacific leading business development, account and project management of mobile wallet initiatives. He has extensive experience in simplifying complex multi-party business cases to develop ecosystem businesses for mobile contactless services and was instrumental in seeding and growing trusted services, mobile payments & ticketing in Asia Pacific while at Venyon (A Nokia JV) and earlier, at Philips.

Earlier, he helped telecoms entities in Europe and Asia while at Ericsson hp Telecom to monetize data & commerce services by marketing and managing products for customer relationship management, rating, mediation and charging.

Shubhrendu holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Master’s degree in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT). He is also a trained Electronics and Communications Engineer from the Delhi College of Engineering.
