Sahana Hussain is the group Head of Open Banking in HSBC and responsible for driving HSBC’s IT strategy for Open Banking and partner ecosystem. She is also leading the Open Banking delivery in UK and have wider engagement with PSD2 in Europe, HKMA in Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and many more markets. She was also a key contributor to the UK’s CMA9 Open Banking Implementation Entity (OBIE) forum to define industry standards for API, Security, data and related paradigm required to deliver CMA’s one of the foundation measures – ‘Open Banking Standard’. With more than 18 years of experience in IT, Sahana has previously worked in Visa Europe’s Digital Business Unit and had engagements with HMRC and Government and has a first-class honours degree in Computer Science and Engineering.
