Mehret is the newly appointed Senior Vice President of Processing Platforms and Network Products at Visa, responsible Visa’s network processing capabilities and innovative platforms that make it easier for clients to

build simple, connected experiences for their customers.

Mehret joined Visa in 2019, and in 2023, took on leadership of the Europe Regional Product and Solutions Team, where she was instrumental in driving the strategic direction and execution of Visa’s product and solutions initiatives across Europe. Under her leadership, Visa accelerated the adoption and use of innovative solutions like tokenisation, generating increased sales for merchants and lowering fraud.

Prior to joining Visa in 2019, Mehret led regulatory reform programs at the Bank of England. There, she played a pivotal role in the transformation of their Real Time Gross Settlement infrastructure. She also held positions in several other regulatory bodies, including the FCA and FSA, testament to her expertise in leading

complex change.

Mehret began her career at Barclays where she brought a fresh perspective to the retail bank’s digital channels and helped shape personalised credit offers, instant account opening, and authentication, setting new standards in customer experience.

In addition to her role at Visa, Mehret is a board member at Form3, a company specialising in payment technology.
