James joined financial services in 2008, the week of the financial crisis. Starting at JPMorgan, he worked as a Market Data Analyst, delivering commercial efficiency and new data demands for Credit, Equities and the Group Chief Investment Office. Transitioning to the CIB’s Chief Information Office, he supported numerous small strategies in Technology and Operations. Post JPMorgan, James worked on the eFX Desk at Barclays Capital before becoming the EMEA FX Business Manager at State Street, then its regional Chief of Staff to the head of State Street’s Global Services business.

Joining HSBC in 2017, James spent two years developing GBM Operational Strategy, notably across data, Operational Excellence and designing HSBC Group’s new BTF Transformation Lifecycle. James now sits in the Global Banking Strategy & Analytics team, partnering with Global Banking Finance Strategy to develop the corporate strategy refresh for GBM under its new leadership.
