Damla has built the Open Banking department in Akbank, where she has been leading the Open Banking, BaaS & BaaP strategy, service design and implementation since 2021. Her team’s main responsibility areas are API design and transformation, B2B BaaS partnerships and structuring business cases around the upcoming local open banking framework.  

She has 12+ years’ experience in digital and consumer banking in the financial services area and throughout her career she has led various product launches, digital transformation and B2B integration projects. Her expertise areas include everyday banking products, B2B partnerships, digital onboarding and open banking. She has been an active member of the Open Banking working group under TBB (The Banks Association of Turkiye) alongside her broad experience working with local banking authorities on open banking and BaaS/BaaP related legislation. 

Damla holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Istanbul University and a Master’s degree in Managerial Economics from Istanbul Kultur University.
