Colin is the Chief Technology Officer for Siam Commercial Bank and since joining has been key in creating a new technology capability within the bank to provide advanced digital services to customers and staff alike. This has involved the introduction of a hybrid agile development capability addressing the stability requirements of the core product systems and the agility required of the digital platforms.

In his first year with the bank, Colin has engineered a leapfrog in foundational technology architecture, focusing on API and micro services for digital transformation. This, along with the migration from traditional delivery to collaboration culture is enabling the provision of business value via the assembly of services for fast delivery. He has also established a data lake, which continues to expand and provide the business with enhanced analytical capability. His vision for the future of infrastructure and solutions is moving towards the cloud and cloud solutions for scalability and even quicker delivery. Colin believes firmly that there are further disruptive technologies coming for the banking industry, and has introduced block chain to SCB, exchanging payments internationally via block chain technology.

Previously Colin was the Group Executive for ANZ assigned with overall delivery responsibility for build of a new wholly owned ANZ subsidiary bank ANZ Thai. This program of work required Colin to leverage his operations and technology knowledge of standard capability to ensure that within a 9 month delivery window the Bank could meet the regulatory timeframe for Legal Day 1.

Prior to joining ANZ Colin was Managing Director for FIS (Fidelity) running the Greater China business and the Consulting Services for Asia Pacific. Within consulting, the roles covered business change, business and technology strategy, establish strategic planning capability, business process re-engineering, development & programme management, technical systems design, and complex systems implementation. This has been across a number of regional banks including Standard Chartered, HSBC, Kasikorn Bank, Krungsri Bank, China Construction Bank, Bank of Shanghai, Maybank, BAAC.

Colin’s has worked in Asia for 20 years commencing with Standard Chartered as Head of IT Strategy. Colin’s early career in banking was in HSBC (Midland Bank) in the UK covering technical and business roles.
