Antonio Barzachki is a policy expert in the EBA’s Consumer Protection, Financial Innovation and Payments Unit. He is involved in the EBA’s work on payments, including some of the PSD2 mandates, and the development of reports and legal instruments related to the EBA’s consumer protection mandate.

Before joining the EBA, Antonio was head of division in the Bulgarian National Bank, responsible for the authorisation and supervision of payment service providers. He also participated in an EU project for the transposition of PSD1 and EMD2 in the Macedonian legislation and taught a course on ‘Banking’ in a university in Bulgaria.
