Michael Lehmbeck, Chief Technology Officer, BankUnited

 

As BankUnited’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Michael Lehmbeck works as a technology advocate and enabler for both his internal to the Bank and external customers. With over twenty-five (25) years of Information Technology (IT) related experience across various Banks and Financial Institutions (FIs), Michael is well-versed with the rigorous regulatory, security, and audit requirements associated within the industry. Having served in various technology and security roles ranging from Software Development, Network & Security Engineering, Data Engineering & Administration, Enterprise Architecture, etc. over that time to his current role as CTO. Michael has helped lead various digital transformation/modernization efforts ranging from full-scale Cloud migration and adoption efforts, Application & Customer Experience Modernization (across various channels – mobile, web, branch), Payment Infrastructure Modernization, Data Enablement (through the vestiges of self-service data analytics), Hyper Automation (whether through IaC, RPA, and now the advent of AI), Core Modernization, Open Banking (through the adoption of APIs), etc. all while ensuring that the technology brings value to the organization.

Alvin Huang is a Financial Services Specialist for Worldwide Business Development at Amazon Web Services with a focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, and prior to joining AWS, he was an Executive Director at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. where he managed the North America and Latin America transaction surveillance teams and led the development of global trade surveillance. In his spare time, Alvin is a part-time lecturer for Rutgers University’s Mathematical Finance Master’s program.
